‘Survival’ to go to Moroccan film festival

Iranian short film ‘Survival’ is to vie at the 2nd Ouarzazate Int’l Film Festival in Morocco.

‘Survival’ directed by Masoud Hatami has been scheduled to compete at the 2nd edition of the Ouarzazate International Film Festival (OIFF) in Morocco.

The Iranian short film will go on the event’s silver screen late this September.

The 8-minute short film is set in the middle of nowhere, where two people are living in a lake and they are using corpses to survive.

Based on a script written by Masoud Hatami himself, the short is a production of the Tehran branch of Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS) and has three actors.

Sirous Qolipour, Parham Deldadeh, and Masoud Hatami are the cast of the work and it is cinematographed by Mohammad Haddadi.

Hatami’s short film has already taken part at a number of international festivals, including the 5th Rural FilmFest El Edén de La Mancha in Spain, the 57th International Brno Sixteen Film Festival in Czech Republic, the 8th edition of the Skepto International Film Festival in Italy, and the Stockholm Experimental and Animation Film Festival 2016 in which it won Best Film award.

This comes as the short has most recently grabbed a special jury mention at 2017 edition of Madeira Fantastic Film Festival.

OIFF presents short films by up-and-coming filmmakers from Morocco and other countries around the world.

The 2nd edition of OIFF is slated for September 18-23, 2017, in Moroccan city of Ouarzazate.
